WHAT ST. JOHN'S IS HOPING FOR

After examining responses to two survey questionnaires sent to parishioners the commissioned Search Committee understands that this parish is fairly united in its desires for the future. The parish family looks to each other for support in worshipping together, mutual spiritual growth, fellowship, and Christian service. This dynamic is best represented by the goals for the parish:

1.       Spreading God’s Word.

2.      Increase Family Participation at services as well as grow the congregation.

3.      Remain with current two service format on Sunday, Rite 1 and Rite 2.

4.      Increase financial stability and develop infrastructure.

The parishioners of St. John's do not expect these goals to be reached by the efforts of our Rector alone, but by the parishioners with the aid of the Rector. The following areas of major responsibility for the new Rector, surfacing from parishioner responses, seem to support a goal of increased lay ministry:

A.           Pastoral Care and Evangelism

B.     Church Growth and Development

C.     Theology, preaching, Liturgy

D.    Stewardship

St. John's is a congregation committed to the proclamation of Jesus Christ to our portion of creation, and is seeking leadership to help sustain and expand growth and development.
